Bail Set At $50K For Woman Who Hit, Scratched Ex-Boyfriend At His Workplace: APB: Hit And Scratch.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, at 9:11 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the 1300 block of 15th Street after hearing a report of a woman assaulting a man at the location. When the officers arrived, they detained both the man and the woman in order to discover what was going on.

The officers learned that these two had been involved in a dating relationship in the past, and that the woman had gone to the man’s workplace to talk to him about her child. The conversation had started out in a fairly normal fashion, but had evidently deteriorated into a heated argument.

This argument then sunk to the point whereupon the woman had felt the need to stress her point by hitting and scratching the man. It was at that moment that witnesses had called the police.

The man had suffered minor injuries as a result of the altercation, and the woman had suffered the indignity of being arrested by the officers, who then charged her with inflicting corporal injury to a spouse.

The bail for this 35-year-old Los Angeles resident was set at $50,000.

Editor’s Note: These reports are part of a regular police coverage series entitled “Alert Police Blotter” (APB), which injects some minor editorial into certain police activities in Santa Monica. Not all of the Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
