The tallest girl on the floor for Loma Linda Academy was five-feet, nine inches tall.
At six-feet, two inches tall, St. Monica’s Melissa Maragnes was too much for the Roadrunners. With her size and the tenacity of Briana Harris, the two-girl game let the Mariners run the table on Thursday night, downing Loma Linda 75-59.
Harris led the game with 33 points to go with 10 rebounds, 10 assists and seven steals. Maragnes followed up with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Katrina Balatico also contributed with eight points.
Despite the losing effort, Loma Linda’s Caitlin Terukina kept the Roadrunners in the game with 20 points.
St. Monica will play at Milken on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Pacifica Christian played their way out of the wild card round on Thursday night with a 42-34 over Le Lycee.
Shanon Volpis led the Seawolves with 11 points while both Francesca Aguilera and Darielle Preston had nine points.
Pacifica will stay on the road for the first round of Div 5A against Desert Christian Academy on Saturday night.
