On Thursday, June 14, at 12:02 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the 1600 block of Fifth Street after receiving a report of a domestic violence incident in progress.
When the officers arrived at the scene they spoke with the victim (a man) and also some witnesses.
They learned from these conversations that the man had been arguing with the suspect (a woman) and that the man had, during the argument thrown some of the woman’s belongings into the street.
The woman had then walked into the street and was collecting her belongings.
As she was doing this the man continued to argue with her.
The woman had reacted to this continuation by pulling out a knife and attempting to stab the man with it several times.
The woman then entered a vehicle and left the scene.
Officers checked the area and found the vehicle with the woman inside, accompanied by a witness.
The officers spoke with this woman and she admitted to them that she had been arguing with the man, and also that she possessed the knife.
The man then positively identified the woman and the officers arrested her.
This 21-year-old woman of Meza, Arizona, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. Her bail was set at $30,000.
