On Saturday, June 23, at 10:45 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called to the 1200 block of Georgina Avenue in order to investigate a large number of teenagers loitering on the street and driving recklessly.
When the officers arrived at the scene they saw 250-300 people aged between 16 and 19 years of age moving in and out of one of the residences on the street.
The officers attempted to locate a responsible adult at the scene but were unsuccessful.
The officers noticed that there were a large number of alcoholic beverage containers at the location so they went into the backyard area to investigate further.
When the officers arrived in the backyard many of these minors leapt over the fences and ran away.
The officers discovered that a minor resident of the address was having a party, had hired security, and was also charging an entry fee.
This minor told the officers that his dad was out of town and that he had hosted several parties at the residence.
The next day (June 24) officers returned to the residence and dispersed about 300 more partygoers without any problems.
The officers then arrested a 19-year-old resident of the location who was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and operating a business without a license (charging people to enter the party).
Bail was set at $5,000.
