Wanted Fugitive From Austin Arrested By Santa Monica Police: APB: The Fugitive.

On Friday, July 6, at 8 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department, who had been assigned to the morning patrol watch, were in the 1900 block of Euclid Street when they noticed a green, 1997 Mercury that had just committed an unspecified vehicle code violation.

The officers stopped this vehicle and spoke with the driver.

The officers, after determining this man’s name and other information discovered, through the use of database technology, that this man was a wanted fugitive from Texas.

This 33-year-old fugitive, from Austin, Texas, was arrested and taken to jail where he was booked for a fugitive warrant.

Bail was not granted and his name was not Dr. Richard Kimble.

Editor’s Note: These reports are part of a regular police coverage series entitled “Alert Police Blotter” (APB), which injects some minor editorial into certain police activities in Santa Monica. Not all of the Mirror’s coverage of incidents involving police are portrayed in this manner. More serious crimes and police-related activities are regularly reported without editorial in the pages of the Santa Monica Mirror and its website, smmirror.com.
