The Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce’s 18th annual New Heroes Celebration will be held poolside at the Le Merigot Hotel on Monday, Sept. 24 from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Held annually by the Chamber, this event is an opportunity for the business community to welcome the City’s newest public servants — all new educators, police officers, and firefighters to the Santa Monica.
This year’s celebration is made possible by returning sponsor Harding Larmore Kutcher & Kozal, LLP.
As part of the program, a representative will introduce all new educators, police officers, and firefighters from each respective organization.
It will feature special guest speakers Fire Chief Scott Ferguson, Vice President of Santa Monica College Jeff Schimizu, SMMUSD Superintendent Sandra Lyon, and new Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks.
Each year, an Inspirational Hero is honored with an award acknowledging their contributions to the youth of the community, and serving as an inspiration for those newest heroes to follow.
This year Captain Matt Norris of the Santa Monica Fire Department will be honored for being a true public servant and role model who has shown extraordinary service to the community.
Appetizers, desserts, and beverages will be served in the poolside courtyard during the receptions.
Door prizes from local businesses and a gift bag await all new educators, police officers, and firefighters who attend.
Advance tickets for Chamber members are $35 while non-member tickets are $45.
