Santa Monica Police Checkpoint Nets Two DUI Arrests:

Santa Monica police held a DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint on Friday night that netted two drunk driver arrests.

Friday’s checkpoint was held in the westbound lanes of the 2900 Block of Wilshire Boulevard.

A total of 1405 vehicles drove through the check point which resulted in the following:

* Vehicles screened: 441

* SFST administered: 46

* DUI Arrest: 2

* Felony Arrest: 3 (1 No Bail Warrant, 1 Drug Possession and 1 Weapons possession)

* Vehicle Impounds: 5

* Drug Arrests: 3 (1 Possession of cocaine, 2 possession of marijuana)

* Suspended Revoked: 1

* Unlicensed Drivers: 5

* Warrant Arrest: 1

* All other cites: 14 (Misc. traffic violations)

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
