Crossroads Tennis beat Windward 9-9 (82-73) in the final match of the season to avenge an earlier loss against the Wildcats and give some closure for the Roadrunners who hope to have a solid seed in the first round of the upcoming playoffs.
Spencer Wall, Crossroads Tennis Head Coach, was elated about the win.
“I can’t wait to have all of our starters ready to roll in the first round of the playoffs,” said Wall. “I hope we are in the top 16 in the CIF division four draw, but whoever we play will get a very tough opponent.”
Crossroads lost earlier in the season to Windward, but did so without a number of their best players.
This time around Crossroads was still down their number two and number four players but managed to secure the team win over Windward.
“We only had our full squad for one match during the regular season,” said Wall. “We beat a very deep Windward team in the final match of the season to end on a high note.”
Tennis playoffs begin for Crossroads Tuesday Oct. 30 with the time TBA.
