Santa Monica Auctions presents “The Last Goodbuy,” a live public art auction of modern and contemporary art on Sunday, Nov. 11 at 12 p.m. at the Bergamot Station Arts Center in Santa Monica, CA.
As construction of the Expo Light Rail shifts into high gear, Santa Monica Auctions has received its notice to vacate. But before the bulldozers arrive, it will be holding one last auction to bid farewell to its location of nearly 19 years.
On Nov. 11, Santa Monica Auctions will be auctioning mid-career and established artists of all mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, multiples and prints.
The lot list for this final auction is comprised of works by Andy Warhol, Christo, Robert Rauschenberg, Weegee, John Altoon, Shirin Neshat, Raymond Pettibon and more.
Independently owned and operated for 27 years, Santa Monica Auctions presents unique and rare pieces in a unique and rare setting outdoors. Its eclectic but sophisticated eye for resilient and relative artworks, live-internet bidding and an electronic catalogue to accommodate last-minute consignments solidify its reputation as a buyer’s sale.
Gallery C2 in Bergamot Station Arts Center is currently housing a preview of the auction with new consignments being added daily. The continually updated online catalogue may be viewed at www.smauctions.com.
Bergamot Station Arts Center is located at 2525 Michigan Ave. in Santa Monica. Gallery Hours: 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. A late night preview will be held Saturday, Nov. 10 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
