A 46-year-old Santa Monica man was arrested Wednesday, Dec. 12 after blocking in his neighbor’s car, refusing to move it, and telling the victim he would “get her” if she called police.
At 7:28 a.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to the 1800 block of Michigan Avenue in order to investigate a report of criminal threats.
When the officers arrived they spoke with both the suspect and the victim within the confines of the apartment complex where they both lived.
The officers learned from the victim that she had left her apartment to go to her vehicle and discovered the suspect had blocked her vehicle in with his vehicle.
She continued to tell the officers that after she had discovered this she went to the suspect’s apartment and knocked on the door.
The suspect answered the knock on the door and immediately informed her that she should not knock on his door.
The victim said that she had then made a request to the suspect that he move his car so that she could exit, but he refused.
The suspect added that should she decide to call the police he would “get her.”
After hearing that this man had threatened to “get” the victim, the officers arrested the suspect and he was charged with using offensive words in a public place.
Bail was set at $500.
