A 28-year-old woman of Sierra Madre was arrested Saturday, April 13 for trespassing on the property of a Santa Monica man who she had previously dated casually.
At 9 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to a multi-unit residential complex located in the 2100 block of Ocean Avenue in order to investigate a suspicious person who was on the premises.
When they arrived they spoke with the person who had called the report in.
This man told officers that in the past he had been involved in a casual dating relationship with the female who was now the suspicious person, and trespassing on the premises.
He told the officers he had broken off the relationship with this woman and had also informed her that she was not welcome any more.
He then informed the officers that the previous day the same woman had arrived at the building unannounced, and that she had told him she intended to stay with him. She was told to leave at that time, but she didn’t actually depart until officers arrived at the location and gave her a warning.
On today’s event she had actually entered the man’s apartment by way of the front door, accompanied by her luggage signifying that she was intent on an extended stay.
The man had asked her to leave but she had initially refused, but eventually complied. The man then went off to run some errands.
When he returned, he discovered the woman had returned to his apartment.
The officers detained this woman and escorted her back to her vehicle.
When they arrived at the vehicle she was arrested and charged with trespassing.
The bail for this woman was set at $1,000, and the victim sought a restraining order.
