Santa Monica National Day of Prayer Ceremony To Be Held Thursday, May 2:

Organizers of the Santa Monica National Day of Prayer have announced it will host is 23rd annual observance on Thursday, May 2 at 7 am at the east patio next to the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, 1855 Main Street.

Santa Monica National Day of Prayer Committee said this year’s theme is “Pray for America,” inspired by Matthew 12:21, “In His Name the nations will put their hope.”

Community leaders, including Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks and Fire Chief Scott Ferguson, and area pastors will offer prayers for the president, governor, and other governmental leaders, the armed services, peace officers, legislators, judges, the community and nation and such topics as personal renewal and moral awakening, youth, the family, business, education, the sick, the imprisoned and persecuted, churches, missionaries and ministry organizations.

Coffee will be available.
