Big Blue Bus Detours Sunday For SM Classic 5K/10K:

Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus has issued the following service alerts for this Sunday, May 19.

Routes 1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9, and Rapid 10 will detour in downtown Santa Monica for the SM Classic 5K/10K. Temporary stop closures will be in effect from approximately 6 am to 2 pm.

Route 1 to Downtown Santa Monica 

Regular service to Santa Monica Blvd. at Lincoln Blvd., buses will continue on Santa Monica Blvd., turn left on 4^th St., right on Hill St., left on 3^rd St., right on Rose Ave., left on Main St. and resume regular route. The following stops will be missed:

• 6th St. at Santa Monica Blvd.; instead board on 4th St. at Colorado Ave., 4th St. at Broadway or 4th St. at Santa Monica Blvd.
• Broadway at 4th St. and 3rd St. Promenade; instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• 2nd St. at Colorado Ave.; instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• Ocean Ave. at Broadway and Colorado Ave.; instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• Main St. at Pico Blvd. and Bay St.; instead board on 4^th St. at Pico Blvd.
• Main St. at Pacific St.; instead board on 4^th St. at Bicknell Ave.
• Main St. at Hollister Ave.; instead board on 4^th St. at Hollister Ave.

Regular service to Main St. at Rose Ave., then buses will turn right on Rose Ave., left on 3^rd St., right on Hill St., left on 4^th St., right on Santa Monica Blvd. and resume regular route. The following stops will be missed:

• Main St. at Marine St. and Ashland Ave.; instead board on Main St. at Rose Ave.
• Main St. at Hill St.; instead board on 4^th St. at Hill St.
• Main St. at Ocean Park Blvd.; instead board on 4^th St. at Ocean Park Blvd.
• Main St. at Hollister Ave.; instead board on 4^th St. at Hollister Ave.
• Main St. at Pacific St.; instead board on 4^th St. at Bicknell Ave.
• Main St. at Bay St.; instead board on northbound 4^th St. at Pico Blvd.

Route 2 to Downtown Santa Monica 

Regular service route to 4^th St. at Broadway, then buses will turn left on Broadway, right on 6^th St. and trips will end on 6^th St. at Colorado Ave. The following stops will be missed:

• 4^th St. at Santa Monica Place; instead disembark on 4^th St. at Broadway (mid-block)
• Main St. at City Hall; instead disembark on 4^th St. at Broadway.
• 4^th St. at Pico Blvd. and Civic Center Way; instead disembark on 4^th St. at Broadway.

Route 2 to UCLA 

Service will begin on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave. and continue on 4^th St. via their regular route. The following stop will be missed:

• 4^th St. at Civic Center Way; instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.

Route 4 to Downtown Santa Monica 

Regular service to 7th St. at Georgina Ave., then buses will turn left on 7^th St., right on Marguerita Ave., left on 4^th St., left on Broadway, and then trips will end on 4^th St. at Broadway. The following stops will be missed:

• 7^th St. at San Vicente Blvd.; instead board/disembark on 4^th St. at Marguerita Ave.
• 4^th St. at San Vicente Blvd. and Georgina Ave.; instead board/disembark on 4^th St. at Marguerita Ave.
• Olympic Dr. at Avenida Mazatlan stop will be missed during several afternoon trips; instead disembark on 4^th St. at Broadway.

Route 4 to Westside Pavilion 

Service will begin on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave., then buses will continue on 4^th St., turn right on Montana Ave., left on 14^th St., right on San Vicente Blvd. and resume regular route. The following stops will be missed: 

• Olympic Blvd. at Avenida Mazatlan; instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• 4^th St. at Montana Ave., Alta Ave., Marguerita Ave., Georgina Ave. and San Vicente Blvd.; instead board on 4^th St. at Montana Ave. (before the intersection).
• San Vicente Blvd. at 7^th St., 9^th St. and 11^th St.; instead board on 14^th St. at San Vicente Blvd.

Route 7 to Downtown Santa Monica 

Regular service to Pico Blvd. at 4^th St., then buses will turn right on 4^th St., right on Santa Monica Blvd. and resume regular route. The following stops will be missed:

• Pico Blvd. at 4th St. (after the intersection) and Main St.; instead board on 4^th St. at Pico Blvd.
• Ocean Ave. at Colorado Ave.; instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• Ocean Ave. at Broadway; instead board on 4^th St. at Broadway.
• Ocean Ave. at Santa Monica Blvd.; instead board on 4^th St. at Santa Monica Blvd.
• Santa Monica Blvd. at 3rd St. Promenade; instead board on 4^th St. at Santa Monica Blvd.

Route 7 to Rimpau Transit Center  

Service will be begin on Broadway at 4^th St., then buses will turn left on 4^th St., left on Pico Blvd. and resume regular route. The following stops will be missed:

• Broadway at 4th St. (after the intersection) and 3rd St. Promenade; instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• Ocean Ave. at Broadway and Colorado Ave.; instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• Pico Blvd. at Main St.; instead board on 4^th St. at Pico Blvd.  

Route 8 to Downtown Santa Monica 

Regular service to Ocean Park Blvd. at 4^th St., then buses will turn right on 4^th St., right on Santa Monica Blvd., right on 6^th St., right on Broadway and trips will end on 6^th St. at Broadway. The following stops will be missed in Downtown SM:

• Ocean Park Blvd. at Main St.; instead board/disembark on 4^th St. at Ocean Park Blvd.
• Main St. at Hollister Ave., Pacific St. and Bay St.; instead board/disembark on 4^th St. at Ocean Park Blvd.
• Main St. at Pico Blvd.; instead board/disembark on 4^th St. at Pico Blvd.
• Main St. at City Hall; instead board/disembark on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• 2^nd St. at Broadway; instead board/disembark on 4^th St. Broadway.

Service begins on 6^th St. at Broadway, and then buses will turn left on 4^th St., left on Ocean Park Blvd. and resume regular route. The following stops will be missed:

• 2^nd St. at Colorado Ave. (after left turn on 2^nd St.); instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• Main St. at City Hall; instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• Main St. at Pico Blvd. and Bay St.; instead board on 4^th St. at Pico Blvd.
• Main St. at Pacific St.; instead board on 4^th St. at Bicknell Ave.

Route 9 to Pacific Palisades  

Service will begin on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave., buses will continue regular route to 6^th St. at Montana Ave., then turn left on 14^th St., right on San Vicente Blvd., left on 26^th St/Allenford Ave., left on Sunset Blvd. and resume regular route. The following stops will be missed:

• 7^th St. at Montana Ave. (after the intersection), Alta Ave., Marguerita Ave. and San Vicente Blvd.
• Entrada Dr. at Stassi Ln. and E. Channel Rd./Ocean Ave.
• Mesa Rd. at Entrada Dr.
• Entrada Dr. at Pacific Coast Hwy.
• Chautauqua Blvd. at Corona Del Mar, La Cumbre Dr., Almoloya Dr., Borgos Pl. and Sunset Blvd.

Please note: A shuttle will be provided from 7^th St. at San Vicente Blvd. for passengers that wish to connect to Route 9 on Drummond St. at Sunset Blvd., and continue via the regular route. 

Route 9 to Santa Monica 

Regular service to Sunset Blvd. at Chautauqua Blvd., then buses will continue on Sunset Blvd. to Allenford Ave., turn right on Allenford Ave./26^th St., right on San Vicente Blvd., left on 14^th St., right on Marguerita Ave., left on 7^th St. and resume regular route to 4^th St. at Broadway. The following stops will be missed:

• Chautauqua Blvd. at Borgos Pl., Almoloya Dr., La Cumbre Dr. and Corona Del Mar.
• West Channel Rd. at Pacific Coast Hwy, Mesa Rd. and Ocean/E. Channel Rd.
• Entrada Dr. at Stassi Ln. and San Vicente Blvd. 
• 7^th St. at San Vicente Blvd. 

Please note: Regular service to San Vicente Blvd. at 7^th St. for passengers that wish to connect to Route 9 at Marguerita Ave. at 7^th St.  

Rapid 10 to Downtown Santa Monica  

Regular service to Broadway at 6^th St. where trips will end, and the following stops will be missed:

• Broadway at 4^th St. and 3^rd St.; instead disembark on Broadway at 6^th St.
• 2^nd St. at Colorado Ave. (mid-block); instead disembark on Broadway at 6^th St.

Rapid 10 to Downtown Los Angeles 

Service will begin on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave., buses will then continue on 4^th St., turn right on Santa Monica Blvd. and resume regular route. The following stops will be missed in Downtown Santa Monica: 

• 2^nd St. at Colorado Ave. (mid-block); instead board on 4^th St. at Colorado Ave.
• Ocean Ave. at Broadway; instead board on 4^th St. at Broadway.
• Santa Monica Blvd.; instead board on 4^th St. at Santa Monica Blvd.
• Santa Monica Blvd. at 3rd St. Promenade; instead board on 4^th St. at Santa Monica Blvd.
