Santa Monica Man Arrested For Threatening, Robbing His 88-Year-Old Father:

Bail was set at $85,000 for a 39-year-old Santa Monica man on Thursday, July 4 after he threatened and stole money from his 88-year-old father.

At 2:48 pm, officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to an apartment, located in the 2700 block of Arizona Avenue, in order to investigate a family disturbance.

When the officers arrived they spoke with the victim, who was the 88-year-old father of the suspect, as well as the brother of the suspect (the son of the father of the suspect).

The father told the officers that one of his sons had arrived at the apartment and demanded money from him in an aggressive and threatening way.

So aggressive in fact, that the father was concerned that he was going to be punched.

The father added that his son had hit him on past occasions.

The father, in a state of fear, gave his son his wallet.

The son removed all the money that was in the wallet, and then threw the wallet onto the bed.

The son then left (presumably to spend the money that he had just taken from his father).

The officers found the suspect and arrested him.

This Santa Monica man was charged with elder abuse, robbery, probation violation, and an outstanding warrant.
