Author Lee Gale Gruen will discuss her book “Adventures with Dad,” which chronicles how she came to reinvent herself in her senior years, in the Santa Monica Main Library’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Auditorium this Wednesday, Aug. 14.
The program will begin at 7 pm. A book sale and signing will take place after the discussion.
In her presentation, Gruen discusses how she found a publisher for her book and how a senior acting class she attended with her father led to a successful acting career.
She also performs a reading of one of the scenes from the book that she wrote and performed with her father at Emeritus College in Santa Monica.
Gruen grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from UCLA. After 37 years as a probation officer, she retired and became an actress.
She has appeared on television, community theater, short films, and commercials.
Wednesday’s program is free and all ages are welcome, but space is limited and on a first-arrival basis.
This is an event of The Living Room – a place for adults program series.
