“Neighbors” opened in the number one spot at the North American box office this weekend, with an estimated $51 million in ticket sales.
Studio estimates gathered by Rentrak show the comedy about a fraternity moving in next to an All-American couple’s house outpaced “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”

But lest any “Spidey sense” be tingling over at Disney’s Marvel Comics division, the movie will have spun $147.9 million in domestic sales over the 10-day period ending tonight.
“The Other Woman” was in third place, with $9.3 million in sales this weekend and a three-week domestic total of $61.7 million.
