A boy and girl were airlifted from a cliff above Tapia Park in Malibu on Friday after they suffered non-life-threatening injuries while hiking with a camp group.

The Los Angeles County sheriff’s Malibu Search and Rescue Team and county fire department personnel were called to the park about 9:40 a.m., said the search and rescue team’s David L. Katz.

The boy was treated at the scene for an ankle injury and the girl was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of heat exhaustion, he said. Both are 12 years old.
