40-Foot Powerboat Catches Fire, Sinks North Of Paradise Cove Off Malibu:

A 40-foot powerboat caught fire and sank north of Paradise Cove off Malibu on Saturday, but no one was injured, authorities said.

The boat was reported on fire two miles off the coast about 7 p.m., said Michael Pittman, supervising dispatcher with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“It was fully involved when our boats arrived,” Pittman said.

Four people were already off the doomed craft and in a dingy when rescuers responded, he said.

They were three adults and a child, according to KCAL9.
