Man In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Vehicle On Santa Monica Beach:

A man who said he was hit by a vehicle on Santa Monica State Beach was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.

The man, who said he was hit on Saturday night, was found at 6 a.m. after someone heard his cries for help on the beach in the 1400 block of Pacific Coast Highway, just north of the Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica police told a photographer at the scene.

Tire tracks were found near the man but investigators did not immediately confirm where he was injured or whether he had indeed been struck by a vehicle, police said.

“All he told us was that a car ran him over,” a police spokesman told CBS. “He wasn’t able to tell us if this occurred actually on PCH or it actually occurred where we found him.”
