Phillips Lerner Event In Santa Monica On Sunday To Benefit Gang Reduction:

Phillips Lerner has announced its annual Adopt-A-Center event, this year celebrating the recipient of the 2014 award: El Nido Family Centers.

This Sunday, Oct. 26 supporters of El Nido and friends of Phillips Lerner will gather for a photography exhibition at the William Turner Gallery in Santa Monica from 3 pm to 6 pm.

The gallery-style reception will showcase the stirring images taken by nine of El Nido’s youth photographers; members of the Centers’ Gang Reduction and Youth Development (GRYD) program in Pacoima.

Many of the student artists will be present to share their work and the stories of their inspiration for the photos. Donations are requested for mounted prints, either framed or unframed.

Funds will be donated to El Nido to cover the costs of materials, to sustain the program for more students, and 30 percent will go to the individual artists.

The event will be held at 2525 Michigan Avenue #E1, Bergamot Station, in Santa Monica. Admission to the event is a suggested donation of $75.

All donations are welcome. Nearby parking is available.
