The streak of decreases to the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was extended today to 61 days, but barely, with a decrease of two-tenths of a cent to $3.094.
The average price has decreased 62.1 cents during the streak, including two-tenths of a cent on Sunday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The streak is the longest since a 91-day streak from Sept. 17-Dec. 16, 2008,
The average price is at its lowest amount Oct. 13, 2010 and 2.9 cents less than one week ago, 25.7 cents lower than one month ago and 52.3 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped one-tenth of a cent today to $3.054, one day after a 27-day streak of decreases ended with an increase of two-tenths of a cent.
The Orange County average price is 2.5 cents less than one week ago, 25.5 cents lower than one month ago and 54.1 cents below what it was one year ago.
