Bail was set at $10,000 for a 53-year-old Santa Monica woman on Sunday, Dec. 7, after hoisting her skirt and shirt inside a Rite-Aid store to expose her private parts to staff and customers.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department were called out to Rite-Aid at 1808 Wilshire Blvd. at 9:45 am in order to investigate a disturbance at the store.
Upon arrival the officers saw a woman who was yelling at store customers in Spanish.
The officers attempted to converse with the woman, but she immediately turned her rage towards them, in Spanish.
The officers, disinclined to become embroiled in a multi-lingual exchange, handcuffed the woman and placed her in the back of the patrol car.
The officers then spoke with an employee of Rite-Aid who told them that the woman had entered the store and had yelled at the staff before hoisting up her skirt and shirt in order to expose her private parts.
The employee was desirous of a prosecution so this woman was arrested and charged with indecent exposure.
