A 27-year-old Santa Monica man was arrested on Saturday, Feb. 7, after becoming violent toward his wife inside an adult and lingerie store.
An officer of the Santa Monica Police department was dispatched to A Touch of Romance (a retail outlet that describes itself as a store that offer products that enhance sexual wellness in people’s lives) in the 1600 block of Santa Monica Blvd. at 1:13 pm in order to investigate a report of a disturbance that involved a man abusing his wife.
Upon arrival at A Touch of Romance the officers spotted a woman inside crying uncontrollably, as well as a man who was yelling at the crying woman.
The officers separated the pair and took the man outside in order to chat with him.
The man said that prior to entering A Touch of Romance the couple had been arguing over a lost EBT card.
The officers then spoke with the woman who said that earlier that day the man had been drinking heavily and had pushed her.
The officers then spoke with witnesses inside A Touch of Romance who stated that the man had been screaming and throwing lingerie and other romantic items of clothing around the store.
The officers arrested this Santa Monica resident for assault and flash incarceration. Bail was not granted.
