Santa Monica Place has received the China-Ready Designation from the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board, according to its head company Macerich.
Santa Monica Place earned this high-profile distinction as a result of the many amenities the property offers for Chinese visitors, including free international WiFi, Mandarin translated maps, WHERE Magazine (China edition), foreign language line interpreter services, Shopping and Dining Visitor Rewards Card with over $500 in savings at participating stores and restaurants, and a complimentary welcome amenity for Motor Coach arrivals.
Other key complimentary services include Mandarin-speaking sales associates at retailers such as Tory Burch, Tiffany & Co., Coach and Louis Vuitton. Most retailers accept China UnionPay.
Santa Monica Place also hosts a weekend-long Chinese Lunar New Year Festival featuring traditional and authentic cultural activities for locals and visitors.
“In 2014, more than two million Chinese visited the U.S., and by 2016, that number is expected to double,” said Shoshana Puccia, Senior Marketing Manager, Santa Monica Place. “We value their business and demonstrate our hospitality with a smart mix of customized services and special amenities to ensure that our center is a welcoming, comfortable and comprehensive ‘must-see’ destination.”
Santa Monica Place also offers a Concierge Lounge featuring curated, local gifts and keepsakes. Same-day package delivery service – available for a flat rate of $5 to hotels, offices and residences within a 12-mile radius – gives visitors added flexibility to shop and enjoy all that Santa Monica has to offer without having to carry packages.
