As Metro tests a system aimed at speeding up the passenger-boarding process, riders of select buses on Wilshire Boulevard today will be able to board the bus at any of the three doors, as long as they have a TAP card.
Select Wilshire Rapid Line 720 buses will have TAP validators by the front, middle and rear doors. People paying with cash or tokens, or using an inter-agency transfer, will still need to enter the bus through the front door, according to Metro.
The multiple-door boarding system will be available on westbound buses beginning at Vermont from 6 to 11 a.m., and on eastbound buses beginning at Westwood from 2 to 7 p.m.
All other buses on the route will have front-door-only boarding.
The testing will continue until July 10.
