A car that witnesses said was clipped by a taxi cab careened into a gas pump in Malibu Saturday night, causing a fire that did not injure anyone, authorities said.
The 7:45 p.m. crash happened on Pacific Coast Highway at Cross Creek Road.
Witnesses took photos of the taxi before the driver drove off with a passenger still inside the vehicle.
The clerk at the gas station cut the gasoline flow, but not before a spectacular fire erupted.
Firefighters had the flames out in five minutes, witnesses at the scene said.
