As California voters continue to head to the polls today, Election Protection , the nation’s largest nonpartisan voter protection coalition, led by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, is there to help.
Voters should call 866-OUR-VOTE (866-687-8683) toll-free with any voting-related questions or issues and they will be assisted by trained legal volunteers.
This English language hotline will be staffed live from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Pacific Time on Primary Election Day. Spanish-speaking voters may seek bilingual assistance through the 888-VE-Y-VOTA (888-839-8682) hotline, run by the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO).
“California encompasses one of the largest and most diverse electorates in the country,” said Lawyers’ Committee President and Executive Director Kristen Clarke.
“Whether voters seek assistance verifying their registration status or encounter barriers at the polls, Election Protection stands ready to help ensure that all eligible voters in California are able to exercise the fundamental right to vote.”
In addition to the presidential primary, voters will have an opportunity to vote in the primary for an open U.S. Senate seat and approve or reject a ballot measure, Proposition 50.
