It’s Pie Time! Annual Contest Returns To Beverly Hills Farmers Market Sunday:

The Pie Bake a’la Beverly Hills & Piesta, the pie-loving, pie-baking event of the season, returns to the Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market this Sunday, June 12 from 9am to 1pm at the market’s Civic Center Drive location

The free event features a curated pie competition, pie tasting, pie-eating competition for kids and adults, and pie-themed activities including ingredient juggling, pie making and decorating and sifting through pastry flour for buried treasure.

Pie Bake a’la Bevelry Hills Piesta attracts amateur pastry chefs from Beverly Hills and beyond to showcase their best pie-baking skills in a fun and delicious competition.

“Come and cheer on the competition and enjoy fun activities and entertainment,” organizers said. “And while you’re enjoying the taste of Piesta, you will also find the finest selection of California-grown produce, juices, breads, specialty items and more. You might even be inspired to bake your own pie from ingredients you purchase at the market.”

Participants entries will be made from locally grown Californian fruit and critiqued by judges Mayor John Mirisch, Frances Bilak, Recreation and Parks Commission Chairperson; Annie Miler, owner of Clementine’s Bakery and Cafe, Sandra Spagnoli, Beverly Hills Chief of Police and Emma Nica, last year’s first place pie bake winner.

Entries will be graded on appearance, creativity, crust, consistency and flavor. Cash awards, made possible by supporting sponsor Clementine Cafe, will be presented to First, Second and Third Place, as well as for the “Most Pieutiful.”

“For your pie-tasting pleasure, Clementine Bakery and Cafe, located at 9346 Civic Center Drive, adjacent to the Beverly Hills Farmers Market, will be open selling sweet and savory, fresh baked pies including its famous “Clementaschen” hand pie,” organizers added.

The Pie Bake a’la Beverly Hills Piesta is featured in conjunction with the weekly Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market, located at the 9300 block of Civic Center Drive, between Third and Santa Monica, Free two-hour parking is available in the Civic Center parking garage. All regular farmers and prepared foods vendors will be featured at the Market as will pony rides and a petting zoo.
