More than 187 golfers and guests teed-up for the 7th Annual Santa Monica Police Activities League (PAL) Charity Golf Classic while raising approximately $90,000 last month, at Mountatin Gate Country Club in Los Angeles.
Golfers included Santa Monica business professionals, Police Officers and at-large members of the Santa Monica community, according to the event organizers.
All proceeds raised from the 2016 PAL Charity Golf Classic benefit youth programs that include PAL Educational Initiatives, PAL Arts Enrichment Projects and PAL Physical Fitness/Healthy Living Activities.
“This is one of our most successful and popular fundraising events that we do each year,” said Eula Fritz, Director at Santa Monica Police Activities League. “We have avid and novice golfers competing at every skill level that all have one goal, to raise much needed funds for a variety of PAL youth programs and the overall organization.”
The golf team sponsored by Judi Barker won the tournament and included team-members Donny Hampton, Eddie Tael, Judi Barker, Bryan Crocker and Jeff Coggins.
Monies raised were generated from tournament sponsors, donations and entry fees.
The PAL 2016 Golf Classic Committee is comprised of PAL Board of Directors, City and Police Officials and Community leaders, and was spearheaded by Sergeant Rudy Flores of the Santa Monica Police Department.
