Hale Arts Space is holding an opening reception of a group show featuring works by Kit Plum-ridge and Bruce Taylor this evening from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Kit Plumride Working in both oils and acrylics, Kit Plumridge’s mixed media work reflects the local surrounding area of Malibu, Topanga and Santa Monica. As an avid surfer and sailor, Kit’s love of the sea and beach precipitates the inspiration of his paintings. Seascapes and surf culture dominate the themes that are painted on his canvas and wood panels.
Kit continually strives to recognize unusual perspectives of the scenes that he paints, resulting in dynamic and fluid compositions, according to the gallery.Painting in this style is balanced with sculpting driftwood and stone installations and gardening with various species of air plants to keep Kit in touch with his South African roots.
Bruce Taylor Native California artist Bruce Taylor has been creating artwork much of his professional life. Depicting a realistic style, his themes range from landscape and seascapes and most recently are winter Santa Monica beach scenes that will be showing at haleArts.
