Man Dies After Jumping off Santa Monica Pedestrian Bridge

A man died in Santa Monica Saturday morning after jumping onto the freeway from a pedestrian bridge.

According to the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD), a report of a person down came in around 4:40 a.m. at the 1500 block of Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), just north of the McClure Tunnel.

Police responded and located a male victim deceased in the northbound lanes.

According to the SMPD, evidence at the scene suggests the man jumped onto the freeway and was dragged a couple hundred yards by a vehicle.
