Man Killed in Santa Monica Hit and Run

Fatality occurs early Monday morning on Santa Monica Boulevard

A man was killed in a hit and run in Santa Monica early Monday morning.

According to the Santa Monica Police Department (SMPD), the incident took place around 1:05 a.m on the 3100 block of Santa Monica Boulevard. Officers arrived on the scene and found a man on the street, police say.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased from his injuries.

Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner has yet to released the identity of the victim.

According to the SMPD, the suspect vehicle is a dark colored, newer sedan. The car was last seen driving eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard.

The incident closed the street until around 7 a.m.
