The Cessna Plane Overturned and Crashed During the Landing Process
A pilot emerged unharmed after an airplane crash at Santa Monica Airport that occurred around 3:45 p.m. on June 5.
The crash involved a privately owned airplane while the crash happened at 3223 Donald Douglas Loop South. As per the Federal Aviation Administration’s report, the Cessna plane overturned and crashed during the landing process. The pilot was the sole occupant of the aircraft.
The runway was reportedly temporarily closed for an accident investigation. A spokesperson for the City of Santa Monica did not immediately respond to Santa Monica Mirror on if there have been any findings from the investigation.
Canyon News reported that Textron, the manufacturer of Cessna planes, stated that a new small Cessna airplane, such as the 172 Skyhawk Model, carries an estimated price of $432,000. Alternatively, a used version of the plane could be sold for as low as $50,000.
