Malibu Schools Update for February 7 from the Malibu Pathway Executive Director

Executive Director Mr. Isaac Burgess Expresses Gratitude Amid Challenges

Gail Pinsker, Community & Public Relations Officer of the Santa Monica – Malibu Unified School District, relayed this message from Mr. Isaac Burgess, Executive Director, Malibu Pathway, via email this evening.

Dear Malibu Staff and Families,

We hope you and your family members and property are weathering this storm well. This has been quite a deluge for all of us, and we understand the unique concerns in Malibu.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your patience and adaptability today as we continue to navigate through this storm and its aftereffects.

We continue to monitor weather conditions, road closures, and local agency recommendations. At this time, we are planning for Malibu schools to be back in person tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2024. Despite conditions improving and roadways reopening, please allow ample time to drive safely and arrive at school on time.

If this plan changes, we will notify you by 6:30 a.m. tomorrow. No notification means the school is in session.

Sincerely,
Mr. Isaac Burgess, Executive Director, Malibu Pathway

Santa Monica schools plan to be open as well.
