Cinco de Mayo Festival Coming to Oakwood Park This Weekend

Revelers Can Expect to Be Entertained by Aztec Dancers, Grupo la Rosa Folklorico Dancers, and Charro (Mexican Dancing Horses)

The vibrant spirit of Cinco de Mayo comes alive at the Historical Venice Cinco de Mayo Parade & Festival, set to captivate attendees on Saturday, May 4, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Oakwood Park.

As described in a post by Eventbrite, the parade commences promptly at 10 a.m., starting from the intersection of California Ave and Lincoln Blvd. The parade route takes participants along Lincoln Blvd (heading north), turning left onto Rose Ave (heading west) until reaching 7th Ave. From there, the procession will make a left turn (heading south) on 7th Ave towards its grand finale at Oakwood Park, culminating at the intersection of 7th Ave and California Ave.

The celebration continues with a lively street festival where revelers can expect to be entertained by Aztec Dancers, Grupo La Rosa Folklorico Dancers, and Charro (Mexican Dancing Horses). Musical accompaniment will be provided by the Venice High School Band, alongside performances by the Santa Monica Cheerleaders.

Classic Cars and Lowriders will parade through the streets, accompanied by clowns, piñatas, and a delectable array of Authentic Mexican Food Trucks. Live entertainment will keep the crowd grooving, with the Rythym Band delivering old school funk music, complemented by the tunes of D.J. Mango and the lyrical stylings of Baby Dog Rapper, straight out of Venice.

Informational booths and vendors will offer insights and delights, with a diverse range of organizations and businesses represented, including the Venice Mexican American Traquero Monument, AmVets Post 2, Venice Family Clinic, Santa Monica College, Kaiser, Venice Kush, Venice Paparazzi, Venice Family Community Housing, Councilmember Traci Parks, Lupitas Tacos, Tacos de Valiii, Oaxacana Taco Truck, and the Growin up in Venice Brand, among others. For tickets and more information, go to https://www.eventbrite.com/e/historical-venice-cinco-de-mayo-parade-festival-tickets-859593987757#:~:text=About%20this%20event&text=Come%20out%20and%20join%20us,(N)%20to%20Rose%20Ave..
