Shortstop Jose Munoz, the Mariners’ season-long batting leader, hit a triple that drove in two runs.Crossroads, which finished second in the Delphic League, won a first round game from Academy, 12-2 and was scheduled for a second round game Tuesday, May 26 against Bloomington Christian, the Victory League champion.Windward, the Delphic League champion, also won its first round game, 6-0 over Bellarmine-Hefferson.Pacifica Christian, which won the Mulholland League in its first season fielding a baseball team, won its Division 7 playoff opener, 7-6 from Adventist.Freshman Kevin Hammer doubled in the seventh inning and advanced to third and home on balks for the winning run.Pacifica Christian will play Cate in the second round. Cate defeated Maricopa, 14-0.In softball, St. Monica lost its first round game to Oxford Academy, 8-0.Brentwood, the second place team in the Delphic League, routed Shalhevet, 28-0 in a Division 7 first round game. Brentwood will play Saddleback Valley Christian in the second round.
