In March 1911, a Saturday morning fire at a garment factory caused the deaths of hundreds of immigrant factory girls and galvanized the labor movement. This event features the publication of a poetry collection edited by poet and activist Julia Stein, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Triangle Waist Factory Fire, with an appearance by Nelson Motta of United Steelworkers.

Documental presents Deconstructing Dad: The Music, Machine and Mystery of Raymond Scott

If you’ve never heard of Raymond Scott, you’ve probably heard his music in old Warner Brothers cartoons. A 1930s bandleader, Scott was also a unique musical figure who has remained largely obscure. This screening of a film about Scott by Stan Warnow will be preceded by an interview with filmmaker Warnow at 6 p.m.
