On Sunday, August 21, at 7:05 p.m. officers were on patrol in the area of 4th Street and Wilshire Boulevard when they were flagged down by a pedestrian who told them that they thought a fight was about to start between two men. The officers went in search of the two men and detained them before they could begin the fight.
The officers investigated and discovered that one of the men had been involved in a heated argument with an unknown man at the bus stop and when he had been told to settle down by another prospective bus patron and the man had taken offense and had then prepared to fight the man who had requested that he be quiet.
It was at that time that the officers had arrived. The man who was so keen to fight was searched and found to be in possession of two knives. The officers arrested this knifeman and he was charged with carrying a concealed dirk or dagger. The bail for this homeless 49-year-old was set at $20,000.
