With 40 points in the second half and 616 yards of total offense, the SMC Corsairs lit up the scoreboard to win 56-34 against LA Southwest on Saturday night.
The game was close for a half with the Corsairs clinging to a 16-14 lead. But 327 yards and five passing touchdowns for Alfonso Medina helped SMC break free.
Myles Johnson ran for 202 yards and a touchdown and caught two touchdowns while Frank Murray caught nine passes for 170 yards and a touchdown. Brandon Taylor added two catches that were both touchdowns.
Shashaun Alexander threw for 213 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions for Southwest in the loss while Ezekiel Graham had 240 total yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. Kyle Evans also had two rushing touchdowns.
The Corsairs will come back home to play LA Pierce on Saturday. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
