Crescenta Valley Tops Crossroads: Roadrunners’ Soccer Falls For First Time This Season

Crescenta Valley's Pavle Atanackovic moves the ball toward the Crossroads goal in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Roadrunners. Atanackovic scored three of the Falcons' goals.

Crescenta Valley’s Pavle Atanackovic scored three goals, which alone was enough, in Tuesday’s match with Crossroads. But teammate Erick Trejo added two more goals to provide insurance for the 5-2 Falcons win.

Crossroads kept the match close, first with Jordan Fier rebounding a save at the goal line and kicking the ball in from point blank to put the game at 2-1 before halftime.

Then, after Willy Gansa’s header made the score 4-2 early in the second half, the Roadrunners had numerous corner kicks and throw-ins to threaten the Falcons. But Crossroads couldn’t convert and the last of Trejo’s goals sealed the game.

Crossroads will host Animo Leadership on Thursday.
