The City of Santa Monica will hold a Leadership Recruitment workshop on Thursday, May 5, at which participants will be briefed on service on its 15-plus boards and commissions — how to apply, what the selection process entails, the role of each commission in advising the City Council and participating in civic life, and the time required.This session will be held at the Ken Edwards Center, 1527 Fourth Street, from 7 to 9 p.m. Refreshments will be served. The Leadership Series offers short courses on city-related issues to inform and engage the public. Courses and materials are free, but advance registration is encouraged.
