Bail Set At $100K For Santa Monica Woman, 30, Who Put Her Child In Danger: Alert Police Blotter: Unsafe In Safety Seat!

Bail was set at $100,000 for a 30-year-old woman who attacked her sister and put her child in danger on Saturday, Jan. 26.

At 9:05 p.m. officers of the Santa Monica Police Department went to a private residence in the 1000 block of Ocean Avenue after they had received a report of a family disturbance.

When the officers arrived they spoke with the victim, who stated that she had become involved in an argument with her sister over the way she was handling her own four-month-old baby.

The sister had, during the course of this dispute, struck the victim in the face, and when the victim attempted to summon the police via the telephone, had ripped the telephone cord out of the wall.

Worried that her sister was not fit to care for the child, the victim picked up the car safety seat containing the baby and informed her sister that she was going to call the police, and also inform the Department of Child Services about her concerns.

The sister then punched the victim in the face three more times resulting in the victim losing her grip on the child car safety seat containing the baby, and the car seat fell to the floor, baby and all.

The victim managed to escape the residence with the car safety seat containing the baby, and eventually called the police.

The sister was arrested and charged with domestic battery, disabling a phone line, and child endangerment.
