A 30-year-old Los Angeles man was arrested in Santa Monica on Saturday, Feb. 9 after crossing against a red signal in front of police, then being found possessing drugs and stolen credit cards when searched, among other things.

At 6:51 pm officers of the Santa Monica Police Department who had been assigned to the Crime Impact Team were on a patrol in the area of Lincoln Boulevard and Ashland Avenue when they witnessed a man proceeding on foot fail to stop at a red signal as he traversed the roadway in a northbound trajectory across Ashland Avenue.

The officers stopped this man for the aforementioned transgression and during the course of verbal exchanges between the officers and the man, the officers discovered that the man had a “No-Bail” warrant for his arrest.

The officers thus arrested this “red light rebel” and during the obligatory search of the person the officers discovered the following items: A glass pipe used for the smoking of methamphetamine, several prescription pills, stolen credit cards, and identification in the name of a person other than himself.

The man was therefore charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, possession of prescription medications without prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a number of other warrants.

Bail was not granted to this LA resident.
