Bail was not granted to a 28-year-old Los Angeles man on Tuesday, May 27 after he was caught in possession of burglary tools.
Officers of the Santa Monica Police Department who were on routine patrol in the 1200 block of Idaho Avenue at 1 am on this day noticed a suspicious vehicle driving south on 12th Street and then proceed east on Idaho Avenue.
The officers were in the area partly because there had been several reports of vehicle break-ins in the vicinity.
The officers stopped the vehicle for a broken taillight violation and spoke with the driver.
They discovered that this man did not possess a current registration for the vehicle.
The officers searched the vehicle and found tools inside of the type typically used in vehicle burglaries.
The officers also found out that this man had an outstanding warrant.
The officers arrested this L.A. resident and he was charged with possession of burglary tools and the outstanding warrant.
