The Santa Monica College Symphony Orchestra will present a special concert Sunday, March 29, featuring a romantic program of music both happy and sad. Los Angeles baritone John Atkins joins the symphony to perform as guest artist. SMC student Joseph Rishik, a cellist, is also featured.
The concert will be held at 4 p.m. in The Broad Stage at the SMC Performing Arts Center (Santa Monica Boulevard at 11th Street, Santa Monica). Tickets are $10. A modest service charge applies. Free parking is available on the premises.
Under the baton of James Martin, Director, the concert offers a mix of great works by Brahms, Saint-Saens, Borodin, and Mahler. Atkins will sing Mahler’s “Kindertotenlieder.”
