Malibu Scores Shutout Win:

Malibu High scored an impressive 28-0 non-league football victory over Murphy Friday night, October 6.

“It was a good win,” said Malibu coach Ray Humphrey, who spent 12 years as a Samohi assistant before joining the Sharks prior to last season. “We’ve been taking some knocks, but we’re starting to see good results.”

As an illustration of its progress, Malibu needed a touchdown in the final two seconds to edge winless St. Monica for its last win. But this one came a lot easier.

J.P. O’Fallon, a junior, scored two touchdowns. The first came on a pass from quarterback Dusty Kramer, the second on a 15-yard run. O’Fallon was also strong defensively as he moved from his usual safety position to outside linebacker.

“We made that change because Murphy featured a running attack and he’s a good tackler,” said Humphrey.

Linebacker Chris Tindall also played well, according to Humphrey.

Malibu will begin league play Friday night, October 13, against Santa Clara, which has a 5-0 record.
