Top Places to Visit in the State of California

It doesn’t matter if you live in the state of California or have plans to visit in the near future, you’ll never be disappointed with the many places you can visit

For example, if you’re visiting California from out of the state, you may be most interested in heading to Hollywood.

Of course, for those who live in California, there are other destinations within the state that are more intriguing to them.

Furthermore, California also welcomes millions of travelers from out of the country every year. If you’re in this position, learn how to get a passport fast, hop on a plane, and take in everything that the state has to offer.

Here are five of the top places to visit in California:

1. The San Francisco Bay Area

From the Golden Gate Bridge to Chinatown to the curves of Lombard Street, there’s an endless number of things to do in this city.

Add the many attractions to the fact that San Francisco has plenty to offer in way of cuisine and shopping, and it won’t be long before you realize that it’s one of the top destinations in the state.

If you plan on visiting the San Francisco Bay Area, leave enough time in your schedule to enjoy everything that it has to offer.

2. Los Angeles

You can visit the exclusive Beverly Hills and Bel Air neighborhoods. You can take a short ride to Venice Beach. And of course, you can check out everything that Hollywood has to offer.

Keep an open mind when visiting Los Angeles, as there’s always something else for you to try. Even if you don’t have much money in your budget, you can have the time of your life in this city.

3. Yosemite National Park

Do you love spending time in nature? Do you enjoy checking out what the country’s many national parks have to offer?

If so, you need to visit Yosemite National Park in the near future. You could spend days on end here and never even break the surface of what there is to see.

Here’s what the National Park Service has to say about Yosemite National Park:

First protected in 1864, Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, but within its nearly 1,200 square miles, you can find deep valleys, grand meadows, ancient giant sequoias, a vast wilderness area, and much more.

The United States is full of places to explore and enjoy nature, but there aren’t many places with more to offer than Yosemite National Park. It’s truly one of the most breathtaking places in the entire world.

4. Lake Tahoe

From skiing to mountain biking to hiking, there’s always something new to explore in Lake Tahoe. Furthermore, it doesn’t matter when you visit the area, as it adapts nicely to the weather.

If you enjoy skiing, there’s no better place than Lake Tahoe during the winter months. But of course, there are many reasons to visit during the summer, including a large number of outdoor activities calling your name, including hiking and biking.

Lake Tahoe is one of those places you visit and never want to leave.

5. Sonoma County

Do you enjoy hiking? Do you enjoy top-notch views of the coast? If so, you don’t have to look any further than Sonoma County.

For example, Trione-Annadel State Park has everything you could imagine, plus so much more. This includes trails for mountain biking, hiking, and fishing.

If you dream of spending the day on a secluded beach, you’re likely to find what you’re looking for in Sonoma County. And remember this: the journey to find the beach is every bit as exciting as the time that you spend there.

La Jolla

Known locally as “The Jewel by The Sea,” the area of La Jolla is known for its historic hotels, beautiful beaches, Torrey Pines State Reserve, and lavish real estate along the rugged coastline.

Originally populated decades ago as a beach front getaway for the rich and plentiful, the area grew rapidly in the last 100 years to a population of 50,000 and one of the wealthiest zip codes in San Diego county.

The must see spots in this very Southern California gem are firstly Torrey Pines State Reserve, high above the ocean and adjacent from the famous golf course of the same name. Next is La Jolla Cove, where a barricade was built to create The Children’s Pool, which has grown into a sanctuary for thousands of California Sea Lions and Pacific Harbor Seals. Last stop on your way south should be Windansea beach, a famous surf spot with a landmark surf shack made from collected drift wood and palms, this is one monument that needs to be rebuilt completely after each massive swell!

Final Thoughts

The more time you spend in California, the more you’ll realize that there’s a lot for you to do.

From visiting the destinations above to trying out some of the new restaurants in the state, you won’t struggle to find things to keep you busy.

Are you looking forward to spending time in California in the near future? What do you want to visit? Do you already have an itinerary to follow?
