Youth Softball Teams Win And Gain Experience:

In recent months a team of six-year-old and under Santa Monica Girls Fastpitch Softball players played in tournaments outside the city for the first time.

         Older participants in the program displayed their ability by winning tournaments.

         The 14 and Under team won the Garden Grove Tournament by defeating Torrance, Los Alamitos, North County (San Diego) and Redondo Beach without losing a game.

         The 10 and Under team won the Diamond Bar Tournament by winning six consecutive games after losing the first one.

         The Santa Monica regular season champions were (10 and Under) S’Mores; (12 and Under) Blue Crew. Playoff champions were (8 and Under) Yellow Bumblebees; (10 and Under) S’Mores; (12 and Under) Blue’s Crew; (14 and Under) Team Azul.

         All-star teams were chosen in the 8, 10, 12 and 14 and Under classifications. Following are the all-star teams for 8 and 10. The 12 and 14 all-star teams will appear in next week’s edition of The Mirror.

         The 8 and Under All-Stars: Clara Brewer, Sophia Booth, Meija Burrall, Amelia Davis, Del Piccolo, Jordan Docter, Kiana Ferguson, Jocelyn Gee, Krista Hernandez, Zoe Krut, Isabella Lily, Kailey Paris, Naomi Martinez, Amy Moton.

         The manager was Corrie Ferguson.

         The 10 and Under All-Stars: (Gold Division) Miranda Andrew, Jackie Carr, Courtney Caswell, Caitlin Cavanaugh, Dylan Gee, Frankie Golick, Christine Maddox, Natalie Montelongo, Annie Quine, Erin Samuel, Coco Schwartz, Ruby Toolin.

         (Silver Division) Jordan Breuer, Carly Condon, Kiki Hunegs, Whitney Jones, Lauren Karley, Fran Kuperberg, Ruby Malamed, Emma Miller, Stephanie Reynaga, Sadie Saltzman, Samantha Southerland, Kelsey Squire.
