Expo Party time! The station at 26th street and Bergamot, which is connected to the Bergamot Station group of art galleries, was lively with locals giddy to be able to ride the new train.

Metro Chief Communications Officer Pauletta Tonilas will be at the Expo Line’s Downtown Santa Monica Station at 6 a.m. Monday, May 23, to thank commuters for using the new rail extension.

A total of 10 bicycle racks stand on the north side of Metro’s new Expo Line Downtown Santa Monica station. A further 10 racks have been installed by the City of Santa Monica on the south side. With Metro’s Expo Line opening to Santa Monica today, that means a total 40 cyclists will be able to lock their bikes to a rack, safe and sound at the station before heading east.

A total of 221 Metro Expo Line parking spots will be up for sale Sunday morning, enabling early-morning commuters a guaranteed place to park at three Expo stations.
