County Supervisor Knabe Backs Rosendahl:

Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe announced his endorsement of Bill Rosendahl for Los Angeles City Council District 11 on Monday, calling him the best candidate to protect local residents from expansion plans at LAX.

“Bill is an honest, hard-working person who has a vision for the City of Los Angeles and will represent the residents of Westchester and Playa del Rey with the heart and soul they deserve,” Knabe said.

“I have known Bill for over 20 years and I am proud to endorse him for the Los Angeles City Council,” said Knabe, who first met Rosendahl when he was the Mayor of Cerritos during the Cerritos Air Disaster in 1984 and Rosendahl was the host of Cable Press Conference. “Bill’s coverage of the disaster was truly thoughtful and thorough. He stood out then as a great reporter and he stands out now as a great candidate for city council.”

Rosendahl said he was “honored and delighted to have Don’s support.”

With Knabe’s endorsement, Rosendahl is now backed by all the leading opponents of the LAX expansion, including the Alliance for a Regional Solution to Airport Congestion, Congresswomen Jane Harman and Maxine Waters, State Senator Debra Bowen, State Assemblyman Mike Gordon, and former Council member Ruth Galanter.Rosendahl has also been endorsed by two other County Supervisors — Mike Antonovich, who cited his positions on regional aviation and public safety, and Yvonne Braithwaite Burke, another LAX expansion opponent.
